5B series pulleys are used for A, AX, AA, 4L, B, BX, BB, and 5L v-belts with diameters from 3.75 “to 38.35”. Depending on the pulley size, they can be used with SD, SK, SF, or E QD bushings, which we also have in stock. Our five-groove 5B QD bushing pulley is mainly made of high-strength grade 35 cast iron, coated with phosphate and anti-corrosion paint. All these are balanced at the factory to ensure the machine’s smooth operation. The main advantage of using QD (quick detachable) pulleys is that if the bushing (hub) is damaged, the entire assembly does not need to be replaced, or if only the pulley is worn, the same principle applies. Another significant advantage is that QD pulleys have a more comprehensive range of hole options than the “fixed hole” type.

What role does the QD bushing play in the pulley?
The Quick Disconnect (QD) bushing is used to install the pulley to the shaft. They help transfer loads between the shaft and pulley and prevent keying out. QD bushings are also designed to provide safe mounting points for equipment.

Quick disconnect bushings are a standard option for connecting pulleys to shafts and motors. They can be removed quickly and easily without damaging the pole or other drive components. They are also designed to eliminate fretting corrosion on the shaft.
The quick disconnect sleeve is easy to install and remove and is very easy to use. They are usually made of bronze or PTFE and come in different sizes and materials. QD bushings can be used in various applications, including hydraulic cranes, wind turbines, satellite antennas, and extractors.
